Make a simple lantern and snake with us for Chinese/Lunar New Year!

Hi all. Well, we intended to have a BIG blog celebration with lots of tutorials. But Phoebe getting sick all the past week, and me now sick, changes those plans.

{cough}

So, here is a simple, sweet blog post for the Year of the Snake; and a Chinese lantern step by step with photo directions.

The little princesses were purchased during the adoption trip summer of 2012, at Guangzhou, Shamian Island. As was the blue dress.

The snake is made very simply by lining up oranges, cutting a snake tongue from crepe, and adding eyes with a marker!

The lantern: all you need is paper, scissors, a handle to be made from crepe, paper, or ribbon, and streamers from same.

We wish you many blessings in the year of the snake. "Gung hay fat choy"

When Phoebe and mama feel better we hope to have some more CNY fun. We will be sure to share some pics if we do. Please link us in the comments to your CNY activities on your own blogs. We love comments.

For the children,
